Tiding Over The Girl Child
In honour of Selma Martha Obanewo-Richking · d. November 27, 2024
A Tribute to Selma Martha Obanewo-Richking
"She did not wait to see what the world would do for the girl child. She made a plan. She wrote it down. She carried it in her heart until her last breath — and entrusted it to us."
IN MEMORIAM

We hold the line until she can hold it herself.
The SMOR Foundation exists to tide over the girl child — to be present at the most dangerous, most decisive moments of her young life and provide the bridge she needs to cross from vulnerability to possibility.
Not everything at once. Not the whole world overnight. But the right support, at the right moment — keeping a girl in school one more term, protecting her from a marriage she did not choose, making sure she is fed and healthy enough to dream.
This was Selma Martha's vision. This is our mandate.

Roots & Wings Economic Empowerment
"See her when she is small. Train her at home. Discipline her with love. Invest in her without hesitation. Because the girl you shape today is the woman who will shape the world tomorrow."
Mission Statement
Our mission is to reach the girl child where she is — in her home, her community, her struggle — and walk with her toward a better life.
Through education, health, and economic empowerment, we build the bridges she needs to cross from where she is to where she deserves to be.
Every girl matters. Every girl has something the world needs. And every one of us who can do something about it — must."

Our Mission
To provide strategic investment, charity, and empowerment programs that tide over the girl child — elevating the standard of living for economically disadvantaged girls, women, and families.
Our Believe
We believe in the power of education, economic empowerment, and holistic wellbeing to transform lives and communities.
Our Vision
Every girl child — educated, nourished, and empowered — standing on the other side of the bridge, reaching back for the next one.
Anchored in Honour, Compassion, Integrity, and Impact — the values Selma Martha lived by and the standard every decision in this Foundation is measured against.
Our values
Carry this Vision Forward.
To give to this Foundation is to complete something Selma Martha started. She spent her last days dreaming of girls she would never meet. Your support ensures her dream reaches them.
